Finally, the grand opening of Toronto’s first Kate Spade store at Yorkdale Mall (I’ve waited forever for this day)!
Kate Spade, oh how I love thee.
I’ve mentioned before just how much I adore Kate Spade. Just the signature Kelly green color of the Kate Spade logo says it all: I love this store.
Yes, in case you were wondering that is indeed my favorite color of all time. Which explains why I own several Kate Spade handbags & wallets in that signature Kelly green.
(Note: That being, of course, just one of maaaaany other colors of Kate Spade purses that I own… from turquoise to sky blue to sunshine yellow to dark mustard yellow to coral peach to bright magenta pink to metallic gold to classic brown, oh my!).)

A typical Kate Spade Kelly green handbag (yes, you’ve guessed it… I have one just like this!)
Just how far was I willing to go to find a Kate Spade retailer, you ask? Imagine this…
- During my trips to Boston? Had to stop at her Newbury Street location.
- On my visits to Chicago? Gotta drop by her Oak Street store, of course!
- And no Kate Spade obsession would be complete without a stopover at the NYC flagship store location on Broome Street.
- I was also delighted to discover a Kate Spade retailer at the Somerset Collection mall in Troy, Michigan by Detroit… which was, at the time, the closest Kate Spade store near my hometown of Toronto, Ontario as it was just a 4 hour drive away (and boy, was I excited when I found that out!).
- All of this doesn’t even take into account my numerous visits to various Kate Spade outlet mall locations throughout the years… including Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in New York and Camarillo Premium Outlets by Los Angeles, California.
So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered the closest neighboring American outlet mall to my hometown (i.e. the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls) decided to open up a new Kate Spade outlet store. I nearly died. In fact, I was so excited, I took Instagram photos (see below)!
Nevertheless, a drive down to Niagara Falls, Buffalo is still two hours away. Hardly the same as having a Kate Spade store in town in Toronto. So after all these years when they finally got around to opening a Toronto Kate Spade retail location at Yorkdale Mall? I nearly died again, times two.
True, the prices aren’t as crazy discounted as they are at the outlet mall… but hey, a girl can always dream. And nothing makes me happier than window shopping at the new Yorkdale store.

I still have yet to purchase anything from the new Toronto location, but just give me time. I promise you it’ll happen real soon!
